Welcome to May 2019 #BakingCrumbs Linky featuring 4 Treats in a Jar! Oh yes, it’s all about small but mighty and delicious cookies, biscuits, bars and even brownie! Treats that you can make or store in a jar!
Would you believe it’s May already? It seems that only yesterday I was writing up March’s linky and here we are!
Thank you to all of you wonderful peeps who joined in with April linky hosted by Jenny over at Apply To Face Blog. Last month’s round-up was fabulous 4 Show Stopper Bakes and if you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet please do!
You’ve linked up so many goodies in April and as it was Easter month there were lots of delicious Easter related recipes to name a few:
Slow Cooker Creme Egg Chocolate Torte by Mummy Mishaps
Easy Easter Nest Cupcakes by Farmersgirl Kitchen
Creme Egg Brownies by Baking Explorer
Gluten Free Chocolate Cupcakes for Easter by Gluten Free Alchemist
Hot Cross Bun Pancakes for Easter by Tin & Thyme
There were some lovely savoury bakes on the cards too:
Healthy Zucchini Muffins with Goat’s Cheese by The Foodie Journey
Quiche Lorraine by Apply To Face Blog
If only I had time and calorie allowance to make all of them (she sighs…!)
It wasn’t easy to pick a theme for this month’s highlights but in the end I had a lightbulb moment with little treats in a jar idea! What do you think? I must say I was pretty pleased with myself!
SO… ONTO THIS MONTH’S 4 TREATS IN A JAR
BROWNIE MIX COOKIES
Who said that boxed brownie mixes are only for making brownies? Jhuls from The Not So Creative Cook proves it’s not the case with her super gooey and chocolatey Brownie Mix Cookies. Crisp edges and gooey centre is my idea of cookie heaven. With white chocolate chunks added for that extra sweetness in these not too sweet cookies, these are a winner! You will need all your willpower to keep your hand out of the cookie jar! (Boom!)
SINGLE-SERVING BROWNIE IN A JAR
Single-Serving Brownie in a Jar from Hannah over at Crunch & Cream is just what the doctor ordered! A little bit of what you fancy without entire baking tray of lovely stuff to tempt you later! Very clever I say! Oh and guess what? You bake it in a jar! Perfect portion and fantastic presentation indeed!
Try these American classic Snickerdoodles from Jacqui over at Recipe Crumbs. Soft and chewy vanilla cookie covered in cinnamon sugar, what’s there not to like! These lovely cookies with super adorable name don’t require any chilling and can be made and baked in around half an hour! Perfect little staple for your biscuit tin or cookie jar!
CHEWY CRANBERRY FLAPJACKS (GRANOLA BARS)
Last but not least are my own Chewy Cranberry Flapjacks (Granola Bars). Sprinkled with almond flakes & white chocolate chips, they’re real treat! They make delicious snack or even breakfast on the go! Cut into neat little squares they will be very happy residents in the cookie jar too!
WHAT I RECREATED IN JO’S KITCHEN LARDER LAST MONTH?
I absolutely love baking with yeast and whether it’s something savoury or sweet it doesn’t really matter. I love watching the dough prove, its yeasty smell and of course final product too! You simply cannot beat homemade bread or sweet yeasty buns! Recently, however, I have had a bit of a break from yeasty baking and when I saw Clare’s of Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy Orange & Chocolate Chelsea Buns I knew I had to make them!
Classic combination of chocolate chips with orange conserve and golden syrup stickiness. All of that in a most gorgeous, fluffy bun! As far as I’m concerned these are far superior to traditional Chelsea Buns and this “new twist on an old classic” has got my entire family’s thumbs up! Thank you Clare! x
NOW ONTO MAY’S #BAKINGCRUMBS LINKY.
IF YOU’VE GOT A BAKE TO SHARE, JOIN IN WITH #BAKINGCRUMBS!
Baking Crumbs is for all of those sweet and savoury bakes, where there’s the potential for crumbs! Pies and pastries, cookies and flapjacks, cakes and cupcakes, brownies, meringues……..
HERE’S HOW TO JOIN IN:
- Please include a link to this post on Jo’s Kitchen Larder and also a link to Apply To Face Blog. Please, please, please include a link to both of us! Running a linky is really time consuming and we both put a lot of work every month into commenting on and sharing your delicious recipes! Thank you lots!
- We decided to do away with the badge you needed code for as it was proving quite problematic. You are welcome to still use the image for the linky if you want though although it is not essential.
- Link up to 3 new bakes with a clear image, using the linky below. (Feel free to contact me if you have any problems doing so).
- Where applicable include the source of the recipe, though do use your own photos.
- Join me in making this a great baking community by sharing the blogging and baking love! Do spend some time commenting on, sharing, and yumming those bakes which catch your eye using the #BakingCrumbs hashtag so people know where you’ve come from!
Feel free to Tweet us @JoKitchenLarder and @applytofaceblog using the hashtag #BakingCrumbs and we will re-tweet all those that we see.
And why not use the hashtag #BakingCrumbs on Instagram too!
You’re also invited to join the Official Baking Crumbs Linky pinterest group board! Just drop me a note and I’ll get you added to the board!
And why not join the Baking Crumbs FaceBook group too, and share your love of baking with other like minded people
Please note, by linking up you are giving myself and Jenny permission to use your photograph in the round up and on social media too.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM JENNY & MYSELF:
We will both be commenting on all of the bakes entered into the #BakingCrumbs linky. We will also be sharing your delicious bakes on Twitter, as well as Pinning and Yumming them (where there is a ‘Yum’ button)! At the start of each subsequent month (usually on the 1st) either Jenny or myself will share a ‘highlight’ round up, as well as highlighting what we were tempted to recreate in our own kitchen that month.
